Hello, my name is Jamie Wohletz, I am a licensed Professional Counselor with the state of Oklahoma.
I received a Bachelor’s Degree from Oklahoma State University in Family Relations and Child Development in 2001. After receiving my degree I worked for the Department of Human Services for almost 20 years. For part of my career I worked with families that struggle in many aspects of everyday living. Helping them to recognize their individual strengths and provide services to improve their wellbeing. Throughout my career I transitioned to primarily working with adolescents in group home and inpatient mental health settings.
In 2017 I returned to school to get a postgraduate degree. I graduated with a Master’s in Counseling Psychology in 2019. I completed my 3,000 hours of supervision at Dayspring Community Services, where I have focused on working with children, adolescents, adults, and families in their journey to improve mental health. I completed my requirements and received my license in 2022.
My approach to improving mental health with clients is primarily Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. This approach focuses on processing emotions, traumatic events, developing coping skills, while improving on a client’s individual strengths.
I was trained in EMDR, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, in 2022. This is a therapy practice that can be used to help client’s process trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, and other negative beliefs.
I look forward to working with clients on improving their overall wellbeing. Working together to meet clients where they are on their journey to help improve their quality of life.
