Hello! My name is Allison Miller and I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2015.
I was raised in Ponca City and earned my Associates of Arts in social sciences from Northern Oklahoma College, my Bachelors of Science from Oklahoma State University in psychology, and my Masters in Counseling from Northwestern Oklahoma State University. I have worked with youth, adults, and families in the Kay County area for the past eight years.
As human beings, we are going to experience trauma or severe life stressors and this sometimes causes lives to feel off kilter. As a counselor, I work to provide individuals with the skills and understanding to heal from their negative life experiences and work toward living their best life. I work to help the client find an optimistic view of how they can grow from their experiences and live their best life. I work with adolescents, adults, and families to find healthy coping skills, improve communication skills, and strengthen their relationships so that they can feel peaceful, whole, and safe.
I understand that no single therapeutic approach is right for everyone; therefore, I utilize multiple approaches, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, person-centered therapy, and family systems therapy. I have also had some extra training in maternal mood disorders and am passionate about working with women and families in this stage of life.
Appointments available Monday – Friday. Please contact me at 580-762-6511 to schedule an appointment. I accept SoonerCare, Health Choice, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna and private pay.
